I saw today that our state house of representatives has passed a bill thats goal is to curb illegal immigration.

Since the federal government has failed in its duty
(I know, I know its hard to believe that the Federal government has proven incapable of carrying out is most basic job function, but with Senators like Graham and Kennedy and Clinton, do we really expect anything more???)
our legislature has taken it upon itself to do their job for them. The house plan is similar to the senate plan that passed last year.

I know that the house plan contains penalties for businesses that hire illegals and it makes it a felony to smuggle illegals into the state.

Is it perfect? Probably not, but at least its something. I also like the idea of trying to shame the federal government into acting.....as huge of a long shot as that is. How do we shame the shameless....

The real problem with the bill is that it only addresses the businesses that have "government contracts" and has no teeth at all for the regular employers/businesses. To me, it is a sign of complete "unpatriotism" to conduct business this way. Ok, I'll get off my soapbox.

As I was using the State for my information, and I did read that in the article, I am waiting to be able to read the bill itself before I start counting its teeth. However, if that is true, then it sounds like our state legislators are just doing what some of them do best...tell us what they think we want to hear.....

And please, stay on the soapbox....we have to be screaming this as loud as we can and to as many people as we can. The open borders crowd sure aren't going to say it.

As a member of The Horry County Minutemen , Do you really thing that this state and federal goverment is going to do anything about all of these illegal aliens . Well Im not going to hold my breath . Sanford didnt even sign into law the REAL ID ACT . What does that tell you .Our elected officals and this governor dont have a pair of B---S big enough to stand up to the big buisness lobbyist and LaRaza . ITS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY AND GREED ! I want all the illegal aliens deported . I want the law perfect . I will even drive the bus and pay for the gas to take them back .
